Site Description

The site

The site is broadly triangular in shape and covers 4.15 hectares (10.25 acres), with an extensive frontage to Syon Lane and to the A4, Great West Road.

The existing buildings comprise 47,508sqm (511,393 sq ft) of floor-space. The main building, fronting Syon Lane and distinguished by its Clock Tower was designed by Sir Banister Fletcher and completed in 1936 in the ‘Jazz Modern’ style. This and the adjacent NatWest Bank (under separate ownership) are Grade II Listed. The proposals for redevelopment seek to offer the best opportunities for the future of Gillette Corner without damaging the unique attributes of the original, listed buildings and its setting, including adjacent NatWest Bank.

The Local Context

Gillette Corner is a landmark site strategically located in Isleworth and within easy reach of Central London, Heathrow airport, the M25, M3 and M4 motorways and close to the centres of Hounslow, Brentford and Chiswick.
